About this print
No bird stands as still as a great blue heron. It will hold one pose at the edge of the shallows for the better part of an hour, neck folded, waiting for the water to forget it is there. Found on quiet water across most of North America, it is the largest heron on the continent and, for a lot of people, the first truly wild thing they notice at the marsh.
This piece gives it the whole frame: the bird forward and clearly lit, the water and reeds falling away into morning mist. It reads from across a room and rewards a closer look, which is what you want from something that will hang for years. A left-facing companion is offered if you would like a matched pair facing inward.
