About this print
The mallard is the duck everyone knows, and the familiarity hides how good-looking the drake really is: that bottle-green head, the hard white collar, the curl of black at the tail. On still water at dawn he is the one bright note in a grey landscape, which is exactly why he has been the most depicted duck for two centuries.
