About this print
The wood duck drake is the most ornately marked duck in North America, and it seems to know it: the iridescent green-and-purple head, the red eye, the fine white bridle lines, the warm chestnut breast. Once hunted to scarcity, it came back through nest boxes and protected backwaters and is now the prize of any wooded pond.
