About this print
A kingfisher is usually just a flash of blue and a sharp rattle, gone before you have focused. To catch one sitting still on a low reed over the water is a small piece of luck, and the closest most of us come to a jewel in the wild.
Small bird, large presence. That electric blue is kept muted and atmospheric so it settles into an antique palette without shouting, and then the bird carries the frame. It is the brightest colour hit in the collection and works where a larger bird would overwhelm the wall.
