About this print
There is no mistaking a shoveler: that huge, spatula-shaped bill, built for straining tiny food from the surface, gives the drake a faintly comic profile. Above it sits a bottle-green head, and behind it a bold pattern of white chest and deep chestnut flanks. They sweep the shallows in slow, tight circles, bills down.
This print plays the rich colour against soft water and lets the famous bill speak for itself. A characterful, slightly offbeat addition to a collection of dabbling ducks.
