About this print
The redhead is the canvasback's near neighbour and frequent companion, a diving duck of open water with a rounded copper head, a soft grey body and a blue-grey bill tipped in black. In good light the head glows; in flat light it smoulders. Big rafts of them gather on lakes and bays through the winter.
This print gives the drake a calm, well-lit pose on still water, the round head unmistakable. It pairs naturally with the canvasback for anyone building a wall of divers.
