About this print
The wood duck drake is the most ornately marked duck in North America, and it seems to know it: the iridescent green-and-purple head, the red eye, the fine white bridle lines, the warm chestnut breast. Once hunted to scarcity, it came back through nest boxes and protected backwaters and is now the prize of any wooded pond.
This is the colour piece of the collection. All that detail is kept rich but soft, so it reads as an heirloom rather than a poster. It is the duck collectors ask for first, and it earns a frame of its own.
